How I Met Your Mother – “Say Cheese’: Season 5 episode 18

In the episode, it is a very important day for Lily because is her birthday and this episode shows what traditional things she would do when is her birthday. Lily always takes a group photo with her close friends and needs the pictures to be just right. It was going great until Ted arrives with a girl to her party. In every birthday party that Lily organize, Ted always bring a girl to her party who he thinks that she may be the one who he’ll married to. This random “skank” as Lily calls her will forever be etched into the photo of friends and a girl who Ted can’t seem to remember at all. Lily feels that the girls that Ted brings along to the party ruins the perfect picture between her friends but Ted feels otherwise.
This episode spend going through the memory lane. The story did not go on really well between the relationship with Lily and Ted as they fought but it did resolve some issues between them which came to a very satisfying conclusion when Lily realizes that Ted included her in a past picture. Besides that, Barney and Marshall have discovered something interesting about themselves when they take a photo. Barney can’t seems to take a bad picture and this cause Robin to take photo of him without telling him but no matter how many times Robin tried to fool Barney into doing something that will ruin his photo, the end result Barney still can never take a bad photo. Marshall on the other hand can’t take a nice photo without either looking stoned, eyes closed or even dead.
Then one-year flashforward may have shed some light on what will happen but the girl whom Ted brought to Lily birthday party isn’t there and neither is Ted seeing anybody. In the end, Robin manage to take a bad photo of Barney as she made him eat something that will caused him to sneeze due to allergies without him knowing what it was. The episode ended with a photo of all of them.
Bloody Awesome Catchphrases

  • Marshall: Who wants a party hat? Look I’m a bird! Let’s all be birds!
  • Barney: The camera loves me Robin - more than loves me the camera lusts me. The camera wants to put on some nice lingerie, pop in an Al Green CD, dim the lights, and do me as I lie there with my eyes closed.
  • Barney: It is physically impossible for me to take a bad picture - I don’t know why, just ask God.
  • Barney: I’ve always looked drop dead stone cold amazing - unlike Marshall who always looked dead, stoned, and cold.
Legendary Moments

How I Met Your Mother - “Of Course”: Season 5 Episode 17

In this episode, there is something important event or moment occurred where Barney and Robin broke up quickly after a season of pining and a few episodes being together. This is unexpected because in previous episode, Barney has never being committed and serious in relationships before he started to fall in love with one of his good friend, Robin. Finally, there is a resolution of sorts to their relationship. This made audience suspect that their problem hasn’t over yet, with the existence of  “Of Course” term which came up by both of them (Barney and Robin), it seems like bridge than connecting them back together.
Robin gets backs at Barney by employing Anita (Jennifer Lopez) to continually say no to him. Barney doesn’t take no from anyone and sets out to sleep with her. Lopez was quite good in the role, and had some great lines that made Barney want her even more.
Also, This episode made the audience noticed that Robin has been crying whenever Barney or someone else gloats over Barney’s conquests. They sing a catchy song, and it’s obnoxious and mean when you see what Robin has been going through. After Barney and Robin had “heart-to-heart” talk at the shooting range, he agrees not to sleep with Anita and then as a payback to Barney’s fault, he sends Robin off on a big date with Don, which has a happy ending. Barney then says no to Anita who only wants to sleep with Barney more. Barney ends up not sleeping with Anita. Barney doesn’t act like this each episode, and will probably revert back in the next.
 Bloody Awesome Catchphrases
  • Barney: At least when I run out on a girl I have the common courtesy to sleep with her first. It’s called manners.
  •  Lily: She kinda sounds like the anti-Barney
  • Robin: But um….(looks like it’s back! May the drinking games commence.)
  • Marshall: You’re my wife. You’re supposed to stop me from embarrassing myself in public.
  • Robin: Isn’t that every girls dream?
  • Lily: Of Course she’s upset! Take a look at yourself you dumb slut.
  • Marshall: I can’t believe you threw up in your storm trooper helmet. Barney: Eh,that had something worse in it after the Phantom Menace premier.
 Legendary Moments
  • Robin goes to the range to shoot when she is mad and she throws the gun when she is out of bullets.

  • Marshall pretends to be Robin and she jumps on him in the kitchen. Now there is a decent fight

How I Met Your Mother- “Hooked” Season 5 Episode 16.

In this episode, Ted is being hooked by Tiffany (Carrie Underwood). Lily’s high school boyfriend, Scooter, works at her school as a lunch lady and is hooked. This leads to a hilarious flashback scene where Marshall thinks she means lunch lady scooter and not lunch lady Scooter. Robin has her camera guy Mike on the hook. Barney explains the evolution of jobs that hot women have. Eventually, Ted mans up and ends it with Tiffany. He also discovers the vicious cycle of hooking. Tiffany’s boyfriend has her on the hook, and in turn she has Ted on the hook who has Henrietta on the hook.
Carrie Underwood was the big guest star and the main attraction, and she’ll probably be overshadowed by Jennifer Lopez next week, so her standard performance won’t be remembered. She had the typical role of the pretty girl. She looked disinterested and said a few lines that showed her disinterest in Ted, but that was the extent.
Overall, the gangs try to convince Ted that he is being strung along by Tiffany, they reflect about relationships where each of them has been in the same situation.
Bloody Awesome Catchphrases
  • Barney: Shall I walk you through the history?
  • Ted: I’m going to explicitly say no…
  • Robin: Move past it guys. I’ve been a little bit loose, but money never changed hands.
  • Barney:…and so hot girls rolled into doctors offices, rendering the very erection pills they peddled ironically redundant.
  • Barney: What IN THE WORLD is up?!
  • Ted (to Robin): You are Captain Hook.
  • Marshall: Hang in there Scoots, I’m not gonna live forever.
  • Barney: Am I right people?
  • Robin: yea, there’s no people. Just the girl you most recently dated.
  • Ted: I seriously considered marrying her out of sheer awkwardness
